we got our babies!

mood:

ok, we've made quite a bit of progress in our wedding preps.

sorry, but our digicam does not do justice to our rings! can you see the 'schmucks' engraved on it?
first off, we got these yesterday. our rings. our babies.

when we got to tita emily's yesterday, my ring was still being cleaned but we already saw schmuck's. initially, schmuck's ring was so wide and it didn't have the matte finish. the specs were exactly what we asked tita emily to do, but it didn't turn out the way we expected. we realized it was way too wide (as in mukha syang bearing ng kotse!), and schmuck's fingers looked so small when he wore the ring. so we asked tita if we could change his ring and make it narrower and to put a matte finish to it. tita accommodated our request with no questions, and said that we could even just wait for it.

in the meantime, my wedding ring arrived and i love it! it was a perfect match to my engagement ring. when schmuck put in on my finger, it was a different kind of high for me. this is it! this is it! hahahahaha!

anyhoo, after waiting a few minutes, we got schmuck's ring and we were both very happy with it. the matte finish gave it a better look, and the size was perfect for schmuck's fingers already. now he's thinking of adding one diamond to his ring. haaay. and i thought women were fickle minded!

on the matter of our invites, we also got the outer envelopes already from lincoln last wednesday. he works really fast! and i love his calligraphy! truly a wonderful find at P10 per envelope.

i've also finally finished making a map of st. james and the palms. i worked on it using ms visio, and it was a breeze! i gave schmuck the job of printing the maps on parchment paper. hmmm, which reminds me, he should be doing that today.

i also tried making faux wax seals earlier. i say faux because instead of wax, i used colored gluesticks. i learned from the w@wies that it's better to use gluesticks because the wax will melt when it's exposed to heat, and the gluesticks are waaaaay cheaper. i made several seals already today and it's sooo nice! i chose a berry color (which is like a deep maroon) and against the ecru envelopes, it looks so elegant. i'll try and post pics as soon as i can.

i'm hoping that we can start distributing our invites within the week.

we went to st. james yesterday to submit our wedding banns and our marriage license. we also finally paid the balance, and that's it.

can you believe it? the next time we go to st. james, it will already be our wedding.

waaaaah! i'm so excited!!!

work has been so toxic lately, and i know it won't let up until the end of the month. fuck. it's not cooperating!

oh, but you know what? i love our director. she knows i'm getting married in april, and she said that my priorities will have to be my wedding so they're offloading some of my functions until my wedding. she was quick to point out that it was only until my wedding though. hahahaha! but for her to even consider it, i was touched.

BUT! despite the offload, work is still toxic. fuck.

why The Schmucks?

- We've decided to revolutionize the term. It's now a term of endearment. Before Roland & Tin became "Roland & Tin," we were very good friends with a dysfunctional sense of humor. I called him a schmuck, he called me a schmuck. Thus, The Schmucks were born. Now we're on our way to becoming Mr. & Mrs. Schmuck. Ain't life grand? -
